You can edit the standard colours and icons in many places within your Purple DS app and create your unique look and feel.
The easiest and fastest way is using Purple DS color scheme.
The following screenshots will help you, they show where in the app the detail settings for colours can be made. The numbers on the images match the numbering of the menus for "App Design" and "Newsstand Design".
