Use the following steps to create an issue or edit settings for an existing issue. The settings will take effect on all platforms where the corresponding issue is available: Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Amazon App Store, web newsstand (if enabled).
These settings specify a cover image for showing on the app or web, as well as availability information (free content, paid or protected by entitlement) and release date. After you have created this metadata for the issue, the actual content (PKAR and media files such as MP3 and MP4) have to be uploaded. You can either do this from the Purple DS Composer with the sync workflow or upload a PKAR file manually.

-
B. Name (mandatory)
The entry will be shown on the newsstand or newsfeed as the title of the issue.
-
C. Description
Here you can add additional information on the issue, such as title stories or important articles. This information will be displayed when you have it in the "Newsstand Design / General / Basic Settings / Kiosk Issue Description: Description only" menu
-
D. Publishing Date (mandatory)
This is where you specify when your issue is available in the release app (live app). The issue will be displayed in the test app (preview app) irrespective of the publishing date so you could test all content before publishing to the live app.
-
E. Publishing time (mandatory)
Specifying the publishing time on the publishing day. The valid time zone is specified in the publication's properties. Learn more about settings of a publication.
-
F. Issue No.
This option can be used to operate linked subscription interfaces.
-
G. Alias
Here you can specify any name to refer to this issue using action URLs or even open a specific page of the issue. Learn more about Deep Links (Action URLs), see "Open issue".
-
H. Enable sharing
This option activates the "share" function in the app menu (left). This allows readers to send their pre-packaged notifications via installed messaging services, such as mail, WhatsApp, SMS, etc. Learn more about sharing.properties (dynamic content).
-
I. Access
Here you can choose how you make your content available:-
Free Content
With this option, your issue will always be displayed and is available for download to all users of the app.
- Paid Content
If you select this option, the respective issue will be displayed in the newsstand and below the cover, the price of the single purchase will be shown on the "Buy" button. In this case, the purchase runs via the payment interfaces of the app stores of Apple, Google or Amazon or Web (connection of a web-based payment interface).
In addition to the full version (paid content), you can provide a preview version of the issue with an individual number of pages free of charge. Users can download it by clicking on the cover of the issue. In addition, a purchase suggestion can be included in the issue.
NOTE: This single purchase option does not work for articles in the newsfeed, but can be useful for distributing subscriptions to a complete newsfeed. Read more about InApp purchases. - Content protected via Entitlement
If this option is activated, the output will only be displayed if the app user has verified himself in the app via a login. Otherwise, this output is "hidden". Different users can have different rights so that different publications are provided depending on login. For example, different departments of a company can access different news feeds or download learning materials, product catalogues, etc.
NOTE: This option can only be used if your app is connected to an entitlement server (authentication of subscribers outside the App Store, e. g. employees of companies or club members, without payment connection). SPRYLAB offers you an Entitlement server, which you can use as an additional feature. Alternatively, your existing entitlement server can also be connected.
