Important Instructions

1. Simultaneous update of the new storefront release:

When updating your Purple App Template to 8.1, we recommend that you also update to the current Storefront Release 1.3. If you are already using the Storefront Editor, you can easily update the Storefront to 1.3 there. If not, please open a ticket through the support portal and let the CS team do the storefront update for you.

 2. Changes in the supported operating system versions:

In order to be able to install the apps, your readers need at least the operating system version iOS 14 (previously iOS 12) or Android 5.

3. Notes on App Submits and Building Purple App Preview Builds:

We recommend that you always create a preview version of your app first and test the functionality of the app. If everything is ok, build a release version and submit it to the App Store accounts.

4. Change in creating the certificates needed for building Purple App Preview Builds

As a reminder, for a few weeks now, the corresponding certificates for building preview apps through Sprylab have no longer been automatically stored for you in the Purple DS Manager. All information on how to generate and store certificates yourself can be found in this article in our knowledge base.

Added Android 12 support and adjusted splash screen and over scroll effect for Purple Apps.

3. iOS

Downloads will stop downloading even if the connection is lost

The download behaviour has been adapted to Android. From now on, the download for an issue/article will continue even if the connection is briefly interrupted or the app is no longer in flight mode.
