Search in Purple DS apps is always carried out online in Purple DS Manager. To do so, the user must be connected to the internet. This makes the search significantly faster and searches through all issues that are assigned to the app in the Manager. Results are also provided for issues that are not installed on the device in question.
The search will be activated and adjust in the Purplemanager -> open your App -> Newsstand Design -> General -> Basic Settings.
- Enable Newsstand Search
This is where you activate the search function. - Enable Fuzzy Search
Here you can activate fuzzy search, meaning results are also provided that do not exactly match the search term. - Search Hits Must Contain All Words
Here you can narrow down the search function, meaning only results are provided that contain all the words in the search query. - Sort Search Hits By Page Number
With this option, the search results are sorted in an issue according to page number. Results are always sorted according to articles in the newsfeed or issues, irrespective of this option. - Show Pages in Search Result
If you activate this option, the page number is also displayed in addition to the page title and a possible description. -
Enable Context Search
If you activate this option a search started from within an issue will only gives results from within the issue. If you start the search from the newsstand you will get results from all issues.
